There goes another year of racing, with the Boss Solar sponsored vehicle putting up a good fight for the Sports Sedan 4W over 3 litre class.
For the past few years Boss Solar has been sponsoring a Subaru WRX in the Victorian Hillclimb championships. This series is held at various sites around Victoria and is conducted by timed sprints, whereby drivers aren’t racing against each other but rather against the clock. The clock starts as soon as the car breaks the light beam at the start and stops once the car breaks the other light beam at the finish line.
Over the year the Boss Solar vehicle competed at various locations around Victoria; including Bryant Park Moe, Mount Leura, Smiths Gully, Broadford and Ararat.
In 2013 facing tough competition, the Boss Solar vehicle fought hard and took out first and third place in its division in a nail bitingly close finish. Unfortunately for the 2014 season mechanical failure and other setbacks resulted in the car not finishing, however one of the drivers Darcy Mills is optimistic for the upcoming 2015 series. In preparation for next years’ championship the car has gone through many upgrades and modifications to create a seriously competitive vehicle.
